Seam welding is a welding technique that joins two like or dissimilar metals by passing an electric current through them to form a nugget. Most often these nuggets are in the form of butt or overlap weld components. Do you know what these nuggets mean? Well, a nugget is nothing more than a small puddle of molten metal that forms at a point of high electrical resistance.Seam welding is a type of resistance welding.

Adavantages

Resistance seam welding produces clear welds with no gas formation or welding fumes. There is also no need to use filler materials to make the join, which can be made gas and liquid tight, opening up a variety of applications.

The procedure can be completely automated, making it highly repeatable. Furthermore, resistance seam welding can produce both a single seam weld and a parallel seam weld simultaneously.

Disadvantages

While resistance seam welding works well for straight-line joins, the rollers cannot produce more complex curved welds. Welding is also not possible at internal corners or where other component features make access to the wheel electrodes impossible.

This method is also ineffective for joining thicker metal sheets than 3mm. Because of the roller's speed, a highly skilled operator may be required to ensure weld quality, and welding equipment is also costly.

Features:

  • Fan cooled transformer having core of high grade silicon steel.

  • Thyristor controlled electronic timer with electronic heat control, to give heavy duty high speed operation, providing smooth, stepless and accurate adjustment of welding current.

  • High quality roller bearings carrying the roller shafts, guaranteed longer-life of the roller heads.

  • Minimum wear of the electrode wheels due to efficient cooling system.

  • Study drive shafts ensure nonslip drive.

  • Leak proof joints at much lower costs, than conventional welding.

  • The main frame of the machine is of the heavy rigidly reinforced and robust welded steel constriction.

  • Round & straight welding fixture structur

  • MS fabricated body

  • Hydraulic, Pneumatic & Gearing system

  • Water cooling system
